Born on 16th August 1955

Painting is my language through which I initiate conversations with myself. The pen and ink are the sole tools through which the hovering silence inside me finds shapes. My paintings are the hieroglyphics of how I look at this universe and the nature. I like to catch the moments in between arising and passing away as it is too fascinating. I believe impermanence is the eternal truth and melancholia is never too far from happiness and I try to show this unchangeable cycle of vulnerability in my work.
Prakash Ghadge is an acclaimed artist from Mumbai broadly praised for his indescribably soulful black and white sketches. He earned his G.D. Art in Drawing and Painting from Sir J.J School of Art, Mumbai in 1977. He has held over 10 solo shows and has also participated in many group exhibitions across the country in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune. His paintings have travelled to Paris as well. Prakash has been awarded with a number of prestigious awards that include the Maharashtra Government State Award, The Bombay Art Society Award and the Art Society of India Award.
