About Suruchi Jamkar
Born on 23rd March 1980
Wanderlust, a storyteller, and an artist, Hyderabad-based Suruchi Jamkar speaks of the existence and the spirit of a young girl’s dialogue with her personal space through the medium of art. The women, in her works, sport a large turban (inspired by her travels in Bikaner) embellished with pearls, signifying individuality, autonomy, and power. Adhering to no limits, she takes inspiration from her relationship with life to constantly evolve her work and reach new creative heights. She works with a vast array of mediums like tempera, fresco, silk, brocade, and pottery. Her extensive travels through the ancient temples of Karnataka, Hampi, and Somnathpura and landscapes of Europe inspire her compositions where she embodies real and surreal expressions from the mysterious realms of human imagination. acrylic paintings
