I have had the opportunity of growing up in mother nature’s lap and also had the benefits of a city life, this experience has lead me to gain a deep appreciation for this world and humanity. In my works, I love taking people to a better place, to remind them of all the beautiful, historic places that this country has. I enjoy creating a melange of cultures and geographic places with a veil of rain on them. Through my compositions I also keep my connection with nature alive and I love sharing the same with my viewers.

Somnath’s artistic journey began with landscapes and portraits, eventually evolving into a practice shaped by sensitivity, memory, and the emotional contrasts of village and city life. His paintings draw inspiration from nature, humility, and the cultural rhythms of his childhood, merging them with the new perspectives gained through his years in the city. The result is a vibrant blend of geographies - colorful, nostalgic, and deeply conversational.
Rain-washed streets, historical sites, and folk human figures frequently inhabit his canvases, rendered in vivid, modern palettes that highlight their timeless significance. For Somnath, painting is no longer just a technique but a medium of expression - one that celebrates humanity, affection, and the enduring beauty of the worlds he straddles.
