About Prakash Ghadge

Born on 16th August 1955

My works bring out the contrast and yet the balance of energies in my works. It is not deliberate. It is, perhaps, the practice of Vipassana (a meditation technique) where you observe thoughts and let them go until you reach a thoughtless state that makes this possible.

Prakash Ghadge understands the power and simplicity of black and white. His knowledge and command over the detailed techniques of pointillism, hatching, and cross-hatching are unparalleled. The contrast of black and white in Prakash Ghadge’s works is a representation of two energies (positive and negative). And the trees present life’s complications and examines the quality of peace achieved with the play of contrasting hues. His monk series usually carries a spiritual warrior giving his thoughts absolute attention rendering, eventually, a sense of contentment. Using the medium of pen and ink, he gives life to his meditative reflection through his landscapes, urbanscapes, abstract compositions, and social themes.
