About Pradip Das

I create new world designs and patterns blurring the boundaries between west and east, capitalism and nature.

Emerging from the culturally and historically rich city of Calcutta, Pradip Das challenges his own perception and that of the viewer with references of everyday objects, political practices and historical events that shape our perceptions and the world at large. He explores current affairs, cultures, beliefs and histories through the study of designs and patterns. Similar to an anthropologist, he explores the stories and histories of objects and retells them by changing their perspective, often portraying them in beautifully crafted compositions.
