About Mukesh Salvi
Born on 21st August 1984
Spending his early days in the streets of Udaipur (Rajasthan), Mukesh Salvi’s early life was like any other carefree child – aimlessly riding his bicycle, playing games and getting lost in a world of fantasy. He was inspired by the lives of the people in his village and soon completed his MFA in Painting from Rajathan school of Art, Jaipur. His paintings draw on his feeling of nostalgia as he depicts surreal figures using bold strokes and vivid colours, combining it with a textural feel. His medium is acrylic on canvas. Mukesh has been the recipient of several awards such as Merit Cetificate (Kalavart Nyas, Ujjain), best exhibit of the Annual Art Exhibition (Rajasthan school of Art, Jaipur) and best student awards from RSA as well as Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy, Jaipur. Mukesh has had two solo shows, held at Hotel Leela Palace, Bangalore and Kalaneri Art Gallery, Jaipur, along with more than 35 group shows to his name.
