About Girish Adannavar
Born on 16th May 1973
Born in Nipani (Maharashtra) but tracing his roots to Karnataka, Girish Adannavar is an artist whose works are stark but vibrant, featuring human forms. He has also been awarded the Maharashtra state award, the Arihant Prashasti in Karnataka and numerous state awards. His works are featured at government and private art spaces in India and abroad. Girish is a 1997 graduate of Bangalore University, Hubli, with a Master of Art Degree. Prizes he has won include the 2008 Dakshin Maharashtra Sahitya Sammelan and the 2002 Rotary International awards. He has been involved in numerous exhibitions, both solo and group, in the USA, Canada, India, UK and Korea. The Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi; 2010 Boston Gala; 2008 The Shrine Gallery, New Delhi; and 2001 Heritage Center, Washington DC are just some of the venues to have hosted his artwork.
