About Ganapati Hegde
Born on 15th September 1974
In his paintings, Ganapati Hegde unveils a delightful habitat with a tinge of surrealism. The rainy, lush green landscape of Kumta with its dense forests sprawling with towering trees, patches of herbs, prancing animals, twittering birds, and busy insects was Ganapati Hegde’s childhood home. It was inevitable that this abundant vision of nature with every fragile being doing its dance found its way into his compositions where he let them express themselves as you and I would. They are sometimes busy and at other times dreamy. His interpretation of nature respects the fragility, sacredness, beauty, and power that it holds over us; with quirky statements on society often wisely woven into the acrylic paintings. He received national recognition at a very young age and now has reached international heights with his solo shows
