About G Subramanian
Innocent, divine, boundlessly joyful, and absolutely from the soul; Subramanian’s collage paintings are a memoir of his life. Influenced by Hindu mythology he portrays gods and goddesses like Krishna, Hanuman, Buddha, and Ganesha in a childlike manner often with a parrot seated nearby in remembrance of his daughter who passed away at a young age. The wonderful colours in his work inspired by his father’s theatre costumes and multiple mediums like acrylics and ink combined textures are at play on the canvas creating visual harmony. Self-discovered and experimental techniques add an edge to his vast array of work and have also led to his creating rhythmic bronze sculptures.
