His creations serve as a means to communicate his personal observations and emotions to viewers through a combination of figurative language and weaving elements. The body, as a vessel for the soul, has long been his focal point and visual tool for communication. In his works, the weaving takes on a significant role, not merely as a technique but as a vehicle for expressing desired interrelatedness between individuals and symbolic body gestures portrayed in vibrant colors.
Another series of his works emerges from his experiences with a severe spinal illness during his time in Baroda. These sculptures depict the body in different postures, symbolizing the numbness experienced in specific body parts due to the spinal ailment. The desire for normal bodily function and the profound impact of personal experiences play crucial roles in this body of work. Through his sculptures,Behera narrates feelings, trauma, and personal experiences, allowing them to become tangible impressions that resonate and communicate with viewers. Currently, he continues to expand upon these themes and impressions in his ongoing series.
