About Anupam Pal

Born on 10th November 1991

For me, art is a collection of emotions expressed through the free flow of brushstrokes; whether the actions that depict the serenity of the meditating Buddha, the enduring love of Radha-Krishna, or the elegant confidence of Indian women.

Inspired by Hindu mythology and Indian traditions, Jamshedpur-based artist Anupam Pal fills his canvases with gestural abstracted figures. His acrylic paintings are easily recognizable from the stylized faces with long foreheads and defined eyebrows and beams with bold colours. You will notice a definitive depiction of light, depth, and soft merging in his work. You also get to observe delicate stories and scenes; whether the interaction of man with his animals or cultural celebration through music and dance. His works, sometimes, address gender equality making an attempt to break the stigma.
