About Amol Pawar
Divine, daring and transcendental; with rhythmic figures leaping off his canvas, Pune-based Artist Amol Pawar’s paintings are a visual treat. The colour and drama in his work rise from the blend of village and urban life he experienced during his childhood. As a mixed media artist, he is never afraid to play around with texture, icons, symbols, flowing lines and even calligraphy as a backdrop for his paintings. His works carry you delicately into dream-like worlds, where the perspective and composition are often that of mythological icons. Exploring the rhythm of life in his works, he seeks to generate feelings of transcendence, balance, and oneness with the whole of creation through them. His work reflects the Indian mythology and his love for calligraphy, texture, nature, and animals. His series of paintings on ‘Sadhu’ will struck you with his choice of colors – the reds and yellows of the sunset and the impassive yet spiritual aura of the subjects are not lost on the viewers.
