About Adarsh Kumar Rao
Adarsh Rao’s interest lies in studying the space and human body and their reciprocity in feelings and energies in relation to the surrounding landscape; the space that has everything and nothing at all. He has observed how the pandemic has changed the system, how we work, how we learn and interact as digitally has led to a more virtual existence, both personally and professionally representing a fragmented version of self pulled in so many directions. Through his works, he is attempting to discover the relationship between the corporeal self and its overlapping virtual form and how virtual existence has had a remarkable social and psychological impact and their relation to the material world. His works are painterly and as he always tried to create a body on a surface to develop the idealistic and representative visual language. He uses different mediums to develop his work including oil, ink, papermâché, graphite, and charcoals.
